Good Morning from the Promptbox Team
Iâm clearly all-in on AI, but monkeys dying en mass, âin considerable pain and sufferingâ for Elon to further his latest unicorn rubs me the wrong way.
I was excited to start digging into Neuralink for todayâs issue, but now Iâm just pissed.
Thatâs it. Thatâs the intro.
Itâs Thursday. Let's get it.

Recruitment Begins
Elon Musk's Neuralink, after receiving FDA approval, has initiated recruitment for its first-ever human clinical trials.
Their main goal?
Implementing brain chips that could potentially help paralysis patients regain full-body motion.
A Sci-Fi Reality
The ambitious vision extends further. Combining Neuralink's brain-interface implant with Tesla's Optimus robot could lead to the creation of robotic limbs reminiscent of Star Wars' Luke Skywalker.
âWhen a Neuralink is combined with Optimus robot limbs, the Luke Skywalker solution can become real.â
Controversies Emerge
However, this revolutionary tech has faced its share of criticism. The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine raised alarms about the fatalities of macaque monkeys that were implanted with Neuralink's chip in 2022.
Contrary to Neuralink's earlier claims, veterinary records indicated that these monkeys underwent significant suffering
The Committee emphasized that the fatalities of these monkeys are directly linked to the safety of Neuralink's brain-computer interface and urged the SEC to investigate.
It does not appear that they have.
The Question
Do you think Neuralinkâs move to human trials is the right step or should concerns from past animal testing halt the project until a full investigation takes place?
