As we start to wrap up Q3, we’re experiencing the storm before the calm.

Crypto in particular, is getting hammered with $5 billion in options expiring this Friday. Both BTC and ETH have already taken a dive, racing past their max pain levels of $26,500 and $1,650 with some determination.

As September has been a historically red month for Bitcoin - 6 straight years of down - we were in the green until last night so this was to be expected.

This is just the market being the market.

China is looking at constructing AI chip factories that employ particle accelerators, aiming to develop an innovative method for A.I. semiconductor chip production, reports the South China Morning Post (SCMP).

These particle accelerators could pave the way for a unique laser source, transforming the accelerator's electron beam into the required "high-quality" light for on-site A.I. chip manufacturing.

Bypassing U.S. Sanctions

Driven by sanctions, particularly from the United States, scientists from Tsinghua University are collaborating with officials in the Xiongan New Area to identify an optimal location for this advanced factory.

By integrating particle accelerators, China hopes to sidestep the need for lithography machines—key in A.I. semiconductor creation—currently under a U.S. embargo.

Netherlands Tech Monopoly & China's Resilience

Only the Dutch company Advanced Semiconductor Materials Lithography (ASML) currently possesses the tech for these lithography machines.

The U.S. embargo prevents ASML and A.I. chip giant Nvidia from exporting their high-end products to China.

Chinese firms continue A.I. advancements despite these constraints, even exploring alternative semiconductor compositions to counteract the sanctions. Recent highlights include Tencent launching a ChatGPT rival after China introduced AI-focused legislation.

U.S. Consolidating A.I. Dominance

The U.S. is intensifying efforts to control the AI market, recently striking multi-billion-dollar AI-centric deals in Vietnam.

Fears of China leading in AI also influence European regulators, prompting considerations of export limitations and restrictions toward China.

META

Meta plans on developing 'dozens' of chatbot personas - dubbed 'Gen AI Personas' - including ones for celebrities to interact with their fans in a bid to attract a younger user base.
The company has tested a 'sassy robot' persona inspired by Bender from Futurama and an overly curious "Alvin the Alien" that one employee worried could imply the bot was made to gather personal info.

SPORTS

The Cowboys home stadium now features “Meet Jerry Jones - An Interactive Experience,” which appears to be an AI-powered hologram of the billionaire team owner.
Tickets start at $55 and fans will be discouraged from asking questions that touch on Cowboys player’s contracts or whether a specific player on the injury report will be cleared to play. Questions about Jones’ personal life are also off the table. Sounds fun!
