☠️ AI Kill Switches to Spawn ‘Hostile Superintelligence’

While contemplating our eventual doom, AI Foundation execs warned against implementing ‘kill switches’ in AI systems, arguing that once AI (artificial intelligence) turns into AGI (artificial general intelligence) it will know we have the power to kill it … and will defend itself accordingly.

"Once we are in the world of AGI, being hostile, threatening, you know, not entirely peaceful to AGI from the start might just create exactly the problems that we tried to avoid," said Lars Buttler, AI Foundation CMO and Chair.

Runway raises $141M from Google Nvidia for their movie-making, text-to-video platform while Inflection AI, the year-old startup behind ChatBot Pi, carries the load with $1.3B.

“I think people can see that it’s just the tip of the iceberg. There’s so much further to go after [Pi] validates the core thesis, which is that conversation is the new interface." Inflection AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman said.

Microsoft's Bing is getting a shopping makeover, complete with AI-powered buying guides and review summaries.

So, for example, when you decide to end the charade of living in civilization and move to the bunker, searching for "Prepper Supplies," Bing will generate a buying guide, complete with product specs, purchase locations, and links.

The only problem? No one uses Bing or Edge.
