A new study found that participants needed help distinguishing tweets written by OpenAI's GPT-3 from those made by Social Media Managers and Digital Marketing Agencies.

Scarily, they were more likely to trust information from GPT-3, even with a higher rate of disinformation.

"These kinds of technologies, which are amazing, could easily be weaponized to generate storms of disinformation on any topic of your choice," warns Giovanni Spitale, the study's lead author
